Our trip to Vietnam
An account of a month-long journey through a country brimming with warmth and humanity.
[Text to be customized — this is a fictional story; please replace it with your own story]
Our trip to Greece began with a scent: the aroma of wild thyme wafting up from the hills of Athens in the early morning, mingling with the smell of freshly ground coffee and souvlaki sizzling at the corner of a tavern. For a month, we traveled through this sun-drenched country, from the Peloponnese to Crete, via the Cyclades.
It was in Santorini that we were struck by those weathered wooden beams running across the low ceilings of the old houses. This simple yet striking architecture, where every element serves a purpose and possesses a raw beauty, inspired us to design this room. We wanted to recreate that unique feeling here: the sense of stepping into a warm, intimate sanctuary where time slows down.
We brought back a few treasures from there that now adorn the Greece room: a small blue-and-white ceramic piece bought at the port of Paros, an embroidered linen pillow found at a craft market in Mykonos, and, above all, this driftwood mirror made by a craftsman we met in Naxos. Each object tells a story of that journey.
As you step into this room, we hope you’ll feel a touch of that Mediterranean warmth: Greek hospitality—that filoxenia, which literally means “love of the stranger”—which meant so much to us during our stay.
At the gateway to the Alabaster Coast
From Maison Le Catelier, set out to explore the cliffs of Étretat, the ports of Dieppe and Fécamp, or Veules-les-Roses, listed among the most beautiful villages in France. Normandy is full of treasures just a 30-minute drive away.
